The Menagerie

1. a collection of wild or unusual animals, especially for exhibition.
2. a place where they are kept or exhibited.
3. an unusual and varied group of people.

We believe we have all 3 at Salang, a survey perimeter of 100 m by 30 m with depths ranging from 12 to 3 m deep. Come see our resident wildlife and corals at the Salang Reef.

We'll be constantly updating this site as we collect more data, and continue our work to discover and learn more about this small patch of reef.

Calling all Scientists!

Are you a marine biologist or scientist who’s interested in learning more about the reef at the Salang Menagerie?

We’re divers and don’t pretend to be marine biologists, so any expert help is always welcome! We would like to offer our services in data collection and maintenance of the reef, so if you’re a marine biologist with an idea about what data would be interesting and valuable to science, then we want to hear from you!

The main inspiration for working on this project has been to create a space for observations to be collected so that we can learn more about the coral reefs, especially if we can help to rehabilitate or restore the corals in some way.
